Labrie Environmental Group

Labrie Environmental Group needed to expand paint capacity to keep pace with growing production demands. Their existing paint line no longer had enough booth turns to handle the increasing volume of parts and assemblies, creating a bottleneck that limited overall throughput. With no room to expand the existing system, M&K International, an authorized RTT Finishing Solutions distributor, designed and installed a Conveyorized Liquid Parts Paint Line that increased paint capacity without disrupting production, allowing Labrie to eliminate the bottleneck and support continued growth.

About Labrie Environmental Group: Since 1971, Labrie Environmental Group has manufactured solid waste collection equipment for the North American market under its Labrie™, Leach™, and Wittke™ brands. Now part of Hiab, the company is recognized for setting industry standards through in-house design and R&D, delivering greener, smarter, and safer equipment to customers ranging from small municipalities to major national waste management providers.

Problem

As Labrie’s production volumes grew, their existing paint line couldn’t keep pace. The booth turns available on their main line were no longer sufficient to paint the full volume of parts and assemblies moving through the facility, creating a bottleneck that limited overall throughput. With no available space to expand or rework the current booths, Labrie needed a capacity solution that wouldn’t disrupt ongoing production.

Solution

M&K International, an authorized RTT Finishing Solutions distributor based in Statham, Georgia, was brought in to help close the gap. Rather than reworking the existing main paint line — a costly and disruptive option given the space constraints — M&K designed and installed a complete Conveyorized Liquid Parts Paint Line, dedicated to processing parts separately from the main booths.   This approach allowed Labrie to add capacity without interrupting normal operations. Installation, startup, and training were completed while the main line continued running as usual, minimizing downtime and keeping production on schedule throughout the transition.   By offloading parts painting to the new dedicated line, Labrie freed up significant booth turns on their main paint line — effectively doubling their overall paint production capacity.
