RTT Finishing Solutions’ VHD Batch Ovens cure liquid and powder coatings on a wide range of industrial substrates, with a maximum operating temperature of 450°F. The VHD differs from RTT’s standard batch oven in its airflow architecture: a floor-mounted, pretested Eclipse Version 2 direct-fired burner box supplies heated air to a distribution plenum in the ceiling, which discharges the full airflow downward through the oven interior. This full overhead downdraft design – combined with dedicated combustion and exhaust blowers – produces optimal airflow balance within the enclosure, faster ramp-up times, and shorter batch processing cycles.
The standard VHD control panel is UL/cUL/ETL-listed and housed in a NEMA 12 enclosure. It includes a 3-phase main disconnect, motor contactors and protectors, an analog 1-second to 300-hour batch timer, a digital temperature controller with high-temperature rollback protection, FM-approved gas train components (high pressure, low pressure, and proof-of-closure safety switches; ventless regulator; dual blocking valve; 2–5 PSI recommended gas pressure), air proving switches for all critical fans, and a terminal strip connecting the panel to the burner box. The panel operates on 230V or 480V, 3-phase, 60Hz.
Standard VHD batch ovens ship with dual entry doors. Working dimensions range from 5 feet wide by 6 feet tall by 6 feet deep up to 10 feet wide by 10 feet tall by 14 feet deep across 43 standard configurations, with recirculating fan capacities from 1,080 SCFM at 1 HP to 8,400 SCFM at 7.5 HP. All RTT VHD Batch Ovens comply with applicable OSHA and NFPA regulations.

What Is the Proper Incoming Gas Pressure for the Valve Train and Burner?
Proper gas pressure is critical for safe and reliable operation.
• Gas pressure must never exceed the maximum rating of the valve train regulator.
• Excess pressure can damage internal components or prevent the valve train from shutting off gas during a shutdown, creating a serious safety hazard.
• Too little pressure reduces burner BTU output and may cause low-gas safety faults.
Typical pressure ranges:
• Ovens: 2–5 PSI
