I hope this memo finds you and your families safe and well through these strange times. I have news I wanted to share about an upcoming name change that will be taking place.
Back in 1996, when I joined Collier Metal Specialties, Jim Collier and I began looking at expansion opportunities. In April of 1997 Col-Met Spray Booths was born from that concept, and in 2005 I was fortunate to be able to purchase Mr. Collier’s shares in the company, making me the sole owner of Col-Met Spray Booths. As you all probably remember, in 2014 we re-branded to Col-Met Engineered Finishing Solutions to encompass all of the products we manufactured at the time, and leave room for product line expansion.
Part of the purchase agreement was the right to use the trademark name “Col-Met” for 15 years, as the “Col-Met” trademark is also currently used by Collier Metal Specialties for lawn edging products they produce. Unfortunately, Mr. Collier passed away in 2016, and I was not able to secure the name moving forward past 2020.
Where does this leave Col-Met? I am excited to announce that now we have another great opportunity to re-brand the company. Effective 10/1/20, Col-Met will be called RTT Engineered Solutions. The meaning behind the name is significant because RTT are the initials of my three children. I chose this name because I believe it reflects the culture at Col-Met (soon to be RTT) that is important to me, which is a family oriented, relaxed working environment.
I wanted to personally let you know that we will remain the same company, same ownership, same people, same products, same values, and same great service.
I truly appreciate your continued support and loyalty in making our company what it is today, and your help in continuing the legacy for many years to come.
