beginning with hands-on maintenance work at his father’s insulation plant. Over the years, he has developed extensive expertise in paint booth design, installation, and maintenance, as well as decades of experience in industrial coating. We recently sat down with Ron to learn more about him and his customer-first approach.
Question: How many years of experience do you have in the finishing or manufacturing industry?
Answer: I have spent my whole life in the manufacturing/finishing industries. As a teenager I worked maintenance at my father’s calcium silicate insulation plant. I have 15 years’ experience with automotive and light industrial paint booth design, installation and maintenance with companies like DeVilbiss spray booth products and Garmat spray booths. Sandwiched between those experiences was 23 years in the coatings industries with AkzoNobel and PPG.
Question: What do you enjoy most about working with customers in this field?
Answer: I enjoy the personal interaction with distributors and customers. Listening to their unique perspectives and ideas for what they want to accomplish.
Question: What’s something unique about your approach to helping customers?
Answer: I offer a consultative partner by offering value beyond the basic service. In my last role, I also acted as the project coordinator on every installation project which gives me a great perspective around that portion of the project, allowing a balance between speed of installation and minimizing disruption.
Question: What do you consider your biggest professional strength or area of expertise?
Answer: I take every project personally. Even the smallest comment made by the customer during conversations needs to be addressed to their satisfaction. I also like to do a post-project follow-up to empower customers and ensure long-term satisfaction.
